FAQs

Q: I think I left something at camp. Who should I contact?

Please get in touch with our Lost & Found Department and they will be glad to help you recover your lost items.

Q: What if I arrive late?

If your arrival is delayed, please phone the camp office at (828) 884-7811 to hold your reservation. Those who arrive after 8:00 p.m. without previous notice may lose their housing priority and be asked to stay in other facilities. Meals can be held no later than one hour after the scheduled meal time.

Q: How do I register?

Online registration is available for most of our camps. Please visit wilds.org/register to begin the process.

You can alternately fax, mail, or e-mail a registration form (located in the brochure) along with the deposit to The Wilds Corporate Office at:

P.O. Box 509
Taylors, SC 29687-0009

Q: Where is the closest airport? Do you provide a shuttle?

The closest airport is in Asheville, NC (AVL). The Wilds provides a shuttle service by advance arrangement only. Rates are available upon request. Call the camp office at (828) 884-7811 to make arrangements.

Q: What if I have special dietary requirements?

Please contact us if you have special dietary requirements. We would love to work with you! Our food service team will be able to provide you with a menu and help you determine which foods from our menu you will be able to enjoy. At this time, we are unable to serve alternative foods for campers with special dietary needs, but you may bring supplemental food with you. We have freezer, refrigerator, and pantry space in our Dining Hall that you will have access to at meal times, and there is a toaster oven and microwave available as well. We will also send you detailed instructions on the best way to prepare and package the supplemental food you bring.

Q: What if I lose something at camp?

If you leave something behind at camp please contact our lost and found department. Lost items not requested in 30 days will be disposed of.

Q: What behavior is expected?

As a Christian organization, The Wilds maintains high standards of conduct and separation. Any uncooperative or noncompliant camper is subject to dismissal. Campers who use tobacco, alcohol, or any form of illegal drugs will be discharged.

Q: What should I wear?

Casual dress is appropriate for the informal camp atmosphere.

Men and boys: Clothing should come at least to the top of the knee. We suggest classy casual dress for evening and Sunday services (activity attire is appropriate at all times for Father/Son Campouts). For water activities, please wear dark shirts and shorts/swim trunks.

Ladies/Girls: Clothing should come at least to the top of the knee. Please no low necklines, narrow shoulder straps, tank tops, or skin-tight fashions. We suggest classy casual dress for evening and Sunday services. For water activities, please wear dark shirts and shorts over swimwear.

The Wilds reserves the right to ask anyone to change his or her outfit if, in the estimation of the staff, it does not comply with these standards.

Q: Is there anything I shouldn’t bring?

Please do not bring any tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, TVs, guns, or ammunition.

Q: Where will I stay?

Housing for each program may vary. Accommodations are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis after the completed registration form and deposit are received in our office. If the requested accommodation is full, we will confirm the next type of housing available (see accommodations section for details) and put you on standby for your first choice. You will receive a confirmation receipt once your registration has been processed.
