In Mark chapter 6, after a very busy time of ministry, the disciples came back to Jesus and gave a report. The very next thing He said to them was, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert [secluded] place, and rest a while.” For what purpose? Rest. Why would they need rest? They were so busy in ministry that they didn’t even have time to slow down and eat!
Here Jesus is emphasizing the importance of getting away for physical rest and spiritual refreshment. Another way of saying that is, “Come apart before you fall apart.”
When I think of The Wilds Youth Workers’ Conference coming March 7-10, I ask myself, What better way to come apart for rest and spiritual refreshment than to enjoy a time of fellowship with other youth workers from around the country? Men, you can begin the week with a round of golf on a beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain golf course while your wife has a time of shopping and lunch in the area with other ladies who are probably about due for a break right now!
We would love to have the opportunity to serve you here at camp in just a few weeks at the Youth Workers’ Conference. Please prayerfully consider making this refreshing trip to beautiful North Carolina and see how the Lord will use it in your life!
